It was fitting that award-winning actress Catherine Oxenberg began her career portraying Diana, Princess of Wales, in the biographical film The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana. Her mother is Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia and she is a direct descendant of Empress Catherine the Great of Russia. Her regal bearing made her the perfect pick to play Amanda Carrington on the hit TV series Dynasty and years later, she satirized her princess image by showing a humorous, behind-the-scenes portrait of her life as a wife and mother on Lifetime’s I Married a Princess reality series.
Currently raising five children ranging in ages from 7-19, Oxenberg continues to challenge herself with diverse acting roles and unique creative projects. She collaborated on a script with her husband, actor Casper Van Dien about her grandfather Prince Paul of Yugoslavia’s heroic efforts to save Yugoslavia from the Nazis.
Her most recent endeavor is a blog where she shares intimate experiences, personal anecdotes, insights and resources for anyone interested in growth, wholeness and improving the quality of life.
Catherine supports several charities and is an advocate for abused and neglected children as Childhelp’s Celebrity Ambassador. She has spoken on their behalf at the Senate on several occasions. She supports women’s rights around the world and is passionate about improving the conditions of women who live in oppressive cultures. She is also an advocate for the ethical treatment of farm animals.
